Well, this is how I started here on Newsvine, back in December 2008, so I feel like I should publish my annual year-in-review poem, read to the tune of Twas the Night Before Christmas, here each year.

My very first post on Newsvine was T'was the Night Before Christmas - 2008, which can be found in my Archives for December of '08. It was my first exposure to the world of blogging. I posted it, starred at the screen for a while and went to bed.

When I was a young boy, they used to say: "What's good for General Motors is good for this country." Back then my uncle was a Ford man, my father a GM man, and all I knew for certain was that like two parallel lines, the two would never intersect.

Hello...just read your post on "Where's the outrage?" I agree....! I am a real estate agent..and am knee deep in this mess... I am working with a single mother now, who has 2 autistic children. Her loan adjusts every month, she called the bank to ask for help..after all they tell the homeowner to call "before there is a problem" She was told that they could not help her....because SHE WAS NOT BEHIND in her payments.....
She got behind..to get the help she needed, and when she called back was told that she needed to make a good faith payment to get help Then she was told they could only give her a fixed rate for 6 months... She gave up and walked away...
The fundamental problem is...when people are encouraged to walk away, and damage their credit.....it reduces there buying power....it's a snow ball effect......therefore, they can't go out and purchase goods and services....If we keep going at this rate....having people, who start out with good credit, destroying their credit to get help......., I don't know how this economy will ever get on track....

I enjoy your articles! If your not a writer for a newspaper or magazine.. you should be! You got talent!
Martin, your writing elevates the Newsvine community, and it's a pleasure to know you and share a piece of your world. Keep up the excellent work. And please do write more of those touchy-feely articles -- you hooked me with your Steelers piece ;)
An environment of actual dialogue is encouraged in Mandleman's quadrant of the Newsvine Universe. Unafraid of opposing opinions intelligently presented, and sympathetic with earnest seekers of common truths embodied in real humanity, he provides fertile soil for real diversity.
Mandleman: I am nominating you HeadMan of the Vine Tribe! You got a couple of runners up, but, day to day, your column has become a daily habit! Thanks.
Wow. Someone inspired, passionate and complete in thought and discussion. I only wish I had the time to put together such well written and well though out articles. I look forward to pursuing the discussions...
